Carlisle All Truck Nationals
As always, it is great to be able to get out to the East
Coast's Largest Truck Event, Carlisle's All
Truck Nationals and sift through over 4000 trucks of every
shape, form and fashion. This is the spot to check out the big
rig action from the highway's kings, all the way to the
North's hottest selection of Modern Custom trucks. You have
other varieties to choose from like hot rod style, originals,
sky scrapin' 4X4s, vans, SUVs and this year they had a
building specifically set aside for Rats VS Rods where you the
spectator could vote for your favorite. There was also a dyno
that was running trucks all day and right across the path were
monter trucks that were crushing compacts. The indoor building
was an invitational that had some rare and vintage fire trucks
on display along with some of the scene's top trucks. In that
area is where the rigs are on display and got a chance to
check out one of the hottest rigs I have ever seen. It is the
one on the next index page so you can see how big the living
quarters are. When you check out the detail pictures on it,
see how they have a Harley on the back that sits on a lift.
The back side of the truck folds out and the lift sets the
bike on the ground.....pretty sweet. I got a chance to snap a
couple shots inside as well and even though they dont do much
justice, it gives you an idea of what it looks like inside.
The cabinets alone were 10 grand by themselves, the total rig
is in the middle 300s or so. I was told that the family stays
on the road for 6 months at a time. No wonder its like a house
on wheels. Maybe next year I will see if I can get up inside
some of these rigs and get some more detailed shots for you
guys. As you may or may not know, this is one of the shows
that we camp at for the weekend. Only the vendors are allowed
to camp so we take advantage of it. This was a great All Truck
Nats as it always is and we can't wait till next year. See you
all next time at the Carlisle All Truck Nationals.
