Heritage presented by the coolest host in the scene...Lee & the Heritage Crew
***I owe an apology to the girl I was shooting on Saturday night and to Drop Mob who let me use their orange Toyota. I did a photo shoot under the gas pump lights in front of Food City that night and they were freakin' awesome shots. They were gonna get used in a few different things on the site and the magazine but something happened Sunday morning with my computer and all the pics from Saturday night were lost. Not just the photo shoot but all the shots of the parking lot too. This doesnt happen often at all but it always seems to happen at the worst time and with the best pics. It was just a screw up and it sucks to say, but I cant put the blame on anyone but myself....I tried but it didnt stick....lol. Hopefully I will get the opportunity in the near future to re-shoot this. Just so you know, it was the cutie in the pink top and skirt on the showgirls page and the orange laid out Toyota with the subtle flames on it...both were very hot.

On with the regular writeup. When people pull up to this venue on Friday and have never been there, they always ask where the show is gonna be. Once they are told that it is right here, behind the Food City and the lady doctor, they are always surprised that a show of this caliber is held here. It goes to show you, never judge a book by it's cover. Heritage has been held in this spot since we first came out some 5 or more years ago. You dont need a nice fairgrounds, convention center or expensive parking lot to hold a legendary event. All you need is the right crew putting it on, the right promotion for the event and a pile of hot rides to come out and represent. This is what Lee and his crew of Heritage misfits have put together and for many years now they have brought one of the greatest shows you will ever attend in the show scene. This year we at DropJaw will have personally attended around 80 shows and Heritage is in our top 3 of the year that we attend. If you have been missing this show over the years, you are missing one of the greatest experiences of your show scene life. Its not a because there are 2000 rides at the show, its not because there are loads of money sponsors behind the show and its not because there are 20 magazines coming out and covering the show. There is a personal value behind this show unlike any other. Not only does Lee handle everything about the show first hand, but he or any of his crew will stop what they are doing and help you in any way possible if need be. This hospitality that you get at Heritage is very small local show-like, as is the setting of the show being in a mountain valley town, and the natives in Whitesburg, KY are very open armed to the event and participate in every aspect of the show. To start with, you can drag anywhere in town.....yes thats right...DRAG ANYWHERE IN TOWN. This is something that is so rare that it set Heritage apart from just about every other show in the nation. I believe that I have heard of this happening at maybe one other show on the west coast somewhere. So if this is the case, Heritage is a one of a kind show that is like no other. As if this wasn't enough to set it apart, they have a cruise downtown on Friday and Saturday night where the entire town and people from towns around come to gather and look at the rides on display before they all ride off together behind a Whitesburg police escort. The cruise does a circle leaving out of downtown and comes right back into downtown where everyone drags and does burnouts for the crowd. After the cruise, everyone heads back to the Super 8 for some motel congregating that usually last until 2 or 3 in the morning. This is the spot where everyone gets to hang out and catch up with old and new friends. There are people and rides set up everywhere between the Super 8 and the Food City parking lot and everyone walks around and gets a sneak peek of what they will see at the show the following days. Bright and early Saturday morning there is always a line waiting for the show gates to open and throughout the day rides pour into the grounds, completely filling up the space allowed. There are bands that come out and perform all day that give a concert feel to the grounds and they also offer some contests like the moon pie eating and hot RC drinking contest. There are also plenty of vendors on hand including pinstripers like Kevin's Custom Pinstriping that can give your ride that extra little accent it needs. Speaking of which, I have to give Kevin props for hand painting the Animated Attractions logo on our newest "work" addition to the club...DropJaw's second flat black van. I hope you enjoy the
