16th Annual Slammin' & Jammin'....presented by AutoShows.cc
Back for the 16th time, Slammin' & Jammin' has become a time honored tradition in the town of Lebanon, TN. I don't know much about Lebanon but I do know that it is the location for the very first Cracker Barrell ever built and we visit it every Sunday after the show. We have been coming here for Slammin' many years now and every time it is an awesome experience. How could you get bored at a show that offers well over 1000 rides to check out throughout the weekend. Not to mention the burnout contest, hydro and air show and of course their infamous bikini contest that had 26 entrys in it this year. The show offers every style of vehicle imaginable from cover trucks to the latest donk style rides. All the trends come together here and mesh very well. I dont remember ever hearing there being any kind of problems at this show. It is focused on families that want to come out and enjoy the weekend festivities and is kept that way on the mic too. One thing that I noticed here, as well as many other shows, is people playing stereos, especially the whole megaphone under the car thing, with the most vulgar music you can imagine. Now dont make me out to be an old fogie (sp) because I love a cd full of nasty ass music just as much as the next guy, but this is a respect thing for the regular people who are out walking the shows with their kids. I know clean versions of songs sometimes suck, but if you are playing it to show the music side of your system then it doesnt matter what the words are. Lets just have a little respect for our sport and show that we are somewhat responsible individuals that can take ahold and change the face of the hobby/life we love. Anywho, people were saying that since they weren't able to have the draggin' contest and couldn't allow on grounds camping, that the show was gonna suffer. Let me tell you first hand that this didn't happen. The show was just as live and bumpin' as it always has been and with a new voice on the mic echoing out throughout the show, it made it that much better. The voice was DropJaw's very own Big Mike and hopefully he will be back for many years to come as the voice of Slammin' & Jammin' Hope you all enjoy the coverage and sorry if I bored you to death with this writeup. See ya at the shows.
