Slamsession presented by
Animated Attractions
Over time, Slamsession has become one of the most legendary shows to
ever hit the East Coast. With the show in it's 16th year, it's easy
to see how it has gained this status. Being the first of it's kind
to host numerous "of the year" awards such as Lowrider, Car and
Truck of the year to name a few, it set standards for many other
shows to come....including DropJaw events. It also started out in
it's first year as a weekend event and didn't grow from a one day
show. The first year Slamsession broke NC records for number of
vehicles at a first annual show with 167. Back then in 1992, that
was a ton of rides. It also was the first show to venture into an
adult nighttime stage contest. After clearing out the little
kiddies, it allowed people to take the stage and do beer drinking
contests, freestyle rap contests and of course the infamous wet
t-shirt contest. There have been other interesting stage events that
has happen here like stupid human tricks and a human beat box
contest. The show also was one of the first to go all out and offer
classes for any and every style of ride that entered through the
gates, with the trophy total peaking above the 300 mark. And none of
this would be possible if it weren't for the host club that created
and perfected this show over the years....Animated Attractions.
Celebrating it's 20th year in '09, NC's oldest car and truck club
has been the backbone to making sure you have a great time at
Slamsession every year. The club prides itself in making sure the
show is up to par for all you showheads that come out. There are
some changes that are getting ready to be made for this show next
year. We have had a few issues in Greenville, NC where the show is
held but are currently working on solving these problems so that the
show will prosper and not get held back. Of course it's some
political crap so I wont bore you with that, just know, Slamsession
will be back next year the hardest it has ever been. There is much
in store next year and many more years to come. Be sure to keep your
ears open for info about Slamsession. See ya next year.
