6th Annual Southeast Showdown

So the Showdown comes back this year in a different location about an hour and a half down the road from Anderson, SC to Lawrenceville, GA at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. I dont think there is anything that could bring this show down. The venue change was made for the future growth of the show and to have a lot less hassle from the motels that were associated with the show. In the area it was held, the official site for Southeast Showdown offered more than 60 different hotels for the people coming out. A lot of problems were solved with this move so that the guys can keep busy with bringing the show scene the top notch show that everyone has come to expect. The one thing that makes Southeast stand out is the Best Debuting Truck award that is given out every year. Many people hold out on showing their newly finished rides until the show comes around so that they have the opportunity to win this honor. Not only did the show bring in a very wide range of customs, but in the middle of the showfield there was an area set up to entertain the kids that came out including a bungee swing. The change also brought out many new vendors and some we hadnt seen in awhile like Godfather Customs. Hooters had a huge setup with some sweet custom trucks and the Hooters Girls were serving food to the crowd. The show has also added to the Georgia show scene lineup that has been lacking for a few years now with there only being a couple big events that happen in the state. I guess this leaves SC open for someone to come in and take over since one of SC's hottest shows is now one of GA's hottest shows. Special thanx to Jon, Eddie and the Southeast crew for looking out for us as you always do. We had a great time and are already looking forward to next year's event. Also, congrats to Yankee and Jen for their engagement that happened during awards right on the main stage. Good luck to you guys. See ya next time round.
